Hahne Receives 10 Years in Multiple Cases

On October 30, 2017, the Honorable Jennifer Growcock, Circuit Judge of Division 2 of the Christian County Circuit Court, sentenced former Highlandville resident, Joseph W. Hahne (40), to the Missouri Department of Corrections. Hahne was a charged as a prior and persistent offender in 5 different cases. The charges and corresponding sentences are as follows:
• Receiving Stolen Property (Class C Felony): 10 Years
• Receiving Stolen Property (Class C Felony): 10 years
• Making False Report (Class B Misdemeanor): 6 Months
• Receiving Stolen Property (Class C Felony): 7 years
• Fraudulently Stop Payment (Class D Felony): 5 years
• Defrauding Secured Creditor (Class D Felony): 5 years
• Passing Bad Check (Class A Misdemeanor): 30 Days
All sentences are to be run concurrent for a maximum of 10-years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. The Court retained jurisdiction for 120 days with Institutional Treatment in the Department of Corrections.
The State was represented by Christian County Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney John L. Young. The Victim Advocate was Julie Harlan.
Kristen Tuohy Appointed To State Board By Governor
First Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Kristen Tuohy was appointed by Missouri Governor Eric Greitens to the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board on October 27, 2017.
Tuohy was appointed as part of an effort by the Governor and First Lady Sheena Greitens to increase the representation of women on the state’s boards and commissions. This commitment was made by the administration to honor the 25th anniversary of the Women’s Foundation
Tuohy’s appointment was based on her excellent record of service to the State of Missouri, as well as her work for Christian County in prosecuting crimes against children and sexual assaults.
NEW ASSISTANT PROSECUTING ATTORNEY PATRICK SPRINGER SWORN IN
Robert Patrick Springer was sworn in October 16, 2017 by Honorable Judge Doug Bacon as a new Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Christian County.
Springer, a native of Aurora, Missouri and now of Springfield, is a 2015 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law. He also holds degrees in Nursing from Southwest Baptist University(2009) and Criminology from Missouri State University(2012).
Nathan C. Falig Jr. Sentenced To 30 Years For September 2015 Sexual Assault

RE: NATHAN C. FALIG JR. SENTENCED TO 30 YEARS FOR SEPTEMBER 2015 SEXUAL ASSAULT
OZARK, MO – The Christian County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office announces that Nathan Calistro Falig Jr. was sentenced to 25 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for rape in the first degree, 25 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on each of two counts of sodomy in the first degree, 7 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for sexual abuse in the first degree, 5 years in the Missouri Department of corrections for kidnapping, and 4 years on each of two counts of tampering with physical evidence. Falig’s sentences for kidnapping and tampering with physical evidence will run consecutively to his sentences for rape, sodomy, and sexual abuse, for a total sentence of 30 years. Falig was found not guilty of armed criminal action.
The Honorable Judge Jennifer Growcock reached a verdict after hearing evidence about the September 2015 sexual assault over the course of a two-day bench trial held on July 25-26, 2017. The verdict was announced in open court on August 3, 2017. Honorable Judge Jennifer Growcock sentenced Falig on October 3, 2017, at 10:00 AM.
Falig must serve a minimum of 85% of his sentence for felony offenses of kidnapping, rape in the first degree, and sodomy in the first degree before becoming eligible for parole.
The case was prosecuted by Christian County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Kristen M. Tuohy. The Ozark Police Department investigated the crime.
ADRIAN SHAW FOUND GUILTY STATUTORY SODOMY FIRST DEGREE
OZARK, MO – The Christian County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office announces that Adrian Shaw, age 56, of St. Louis, Missouri, was found guilty of statutory sodomy first degree. A jury trial commenced on Monday, August 14, 2017 in the City of St. Louis with the Honorable Judge Jimmie Edwards presiding. The jury rendered its guilty verdict on Thursday, August 17, 2017, finding the defendant guilty of statutory sodomy in the first degree of a child less than 12. The facts presented included that on or between June 2 and June 3, 2015, the defendant had deviate sexual intercourse with a three-year-old little girl. The defendant was the boyfriend of the child’s grandmother. The court prior to commencement of the jury trial found the defendant to be a prior and persistent felony offender. The Honorable Jimmie Edwards will sentence Shaw on October 6, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in Division 19 of the Circuit Court of the City of St. Louis.
The case was prosecuted by Prosecuting Attorney Amy Fite and First Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Kristen M. Tuohy serving as special prosecutors. The Christian County Prosecuting Attorney was appointed January 31, 2017 by the Honorable Michael Stelzer of the 22nd Judicial Circuit to serve as a special prosecutor for this matter. The City of St. Louis Police Department’s Child Abuse Unit Detective Julie Johnson was the primary investigator of this crime.
