OZARK, MO – The Prosecuting Attorney’s Office announces that Donald Trey Condreay and Angela Kay Furtado were sentenced to the MO Department of Corrections for committing a burglary at a Nixa residence on November 1, 2023.
Both defendants were convicted of 1st Degree Burglary, 3rd Degree Assault, and Resisting Arrest following a three-day jury trial in October. A sentencing hearing was held on December 18 before the Honorable Judge Laura Johnson. Mr. Condreay, 40, was sentenced to twenty-five (25) years in prison, while Ms. Furtado, 44, received a 15-year prison sentence.
The charges stem from a burglary at a Nixa residence on November 1, 2023. The defendants were found guilty of unlawfully remaining within the home for the purpose of committing an assault against the 63-year-old homeowner. They were also found guilty of fleeing from the Nixa police officers who responded to the incident shortly after the assault occurred.
As persistent felony offenders, both Condreay and Furtado faced up to 30 years of incarceration on the charge of first-degree burglary. The Court sentenced Mr. Condreay to 25 years for Burglary 1st Degree, 10 years for Assault 3rd Degree, and seven years for resisting arrest. Ms. Furtado was sentenced to 15 years for Burglary 1st Degree, 7 years for Assault 3rd Degree, and 7 years for resisting arrest. All counts will run concurrently.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Chris Aiken and Dan Brogdon. Julie Harlan served as Victim Advocate and Brooke Miller served as Legal Assistant. The case was investigated by Nixa Police Department, with help from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department.
