OZARK, MO – The Christian County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office announced today that DANNY J. PRALL, JR. dob: 11/7/1970 formerly of Topeka, KS and Ozark, MO was found guilty by a Christian County jury of forcible rape of a child less than 12, three counts of statutory sodomy 1st degree, sexual abuse, kidnapping, child molestation 1st degree, domestic assault 2nd degree, endangering the welfare of a child 1st degree and victim tampering. A jury trial was commenced before the Honorable Judge Tony Williams on November 18, 2013 and concluded on November 20, 2013.
The jury deliberated approximately 2 ½ hours before reaching its verdicts. The defendant was convicted of crimes occurring during the summer of 2009. It was more than two years after the offenses occurred when the child disclosed the offenses.
Formal sentencing is scheduled before the Honorable Tony Williams on February 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.
The range of punishment for forcible rape of a child less than 12 is life in prison with the defendant having to serve thirty (30) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections before being eligible for parole. The range of punishment for statutory sodomy 1st degree of a child less than 12 is a term of years not less than ten (10) in the Missouri Department of Corrections or life. The range of punishment for sexual abuse, kidnapping and child molestation 1st degree is five (5) years to fifteen (15) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. The range of punishment for domestic assault 2nd degree, endangering the welfare of a child 1st degree and victim tampering is one (1) day to one 1 year in the Christian County Jail or two (2) years to seven (7) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections and/or a fine up to $5, 000.
