TIMOTHY GREEN JR. SENTENCED TO 13 YEARS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR ASSAULT IN THE SECOND DEGREE AND ARMED CRIMINAL ACTION

OZARK, MO – The Christian County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office announces that on January 10th, 2023, Timothy Green Jr. appeared for sentencing before the Honorable Jessica Kruse. Green Jr. was found guilty by a Christian County jury on November 29th, 2023, of assault in the second degree and armed criminal action for his role in an attack on the victim and her father. Judge Kruse sentenced Green Jr. to five (5) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for assault in the second degree and eight (8) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for armed criminal action. On July 18th, 2020, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Green Jr. and two accomplices attacked the victim and her father in the victim’s residence, which the victim was renting from Green. While the two accomplices held the victim by her arms, Green struck the victim across the back with a large wood plank, breaking the plank into two pieces and leaving significant bruising on the victim’s back.

Assault in the second degree is a class D felony; however, because Green Jr. was found to be a prior and persistent assault offender, he faced the range of punishment of a class B felony, five (5) to fifteen (15) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. Armed criminal action is an unclassified felony, the range of punishment for which is a minimum of three (3) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. A person convicted of armed criminal action must serve three (3) calendar years’ imprisonment before being eligible for parole, probation, or conditional release.

The case was investigated by the Ozark Police Department and prosecuted by Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Dan Brogdon and Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Tarek Masri.
