KRISTEN TUOHY, FIRST ASSISTANT PROSECUTING ATTORNEY
Kristen joined the Christian County Prosecutor’s Office in July of 2012. Kristen received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from University of Missouri in 1999. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri School of Law in 2003. Prior to joining the Christian County Prosecutor’s Office, Kristen served as a Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office specializing in serious drug offenses. Kristen also worked as an Assistant Attorney General, an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney with the Newton County Prosecutor’s Office and as an Assistant Public Defender.
JANETTE BLEAU, FIRST ASSISTANT PROSECUTING ATTORNEY
Janette joined the Christian County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in January of 2005. Janette is a 1991 graduate of Burge School of Nursing, a 1995 graduate of Southwest Baptist University and received her law degree from the University of Missouri School of Law – Kansas City in 1999. Prior to joining the Christian County Office, Janette was an associate with Smith, Montgomery and Associates where she represented persons in family and criminal law matters. Prior to Smith Montgomery she served as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Greene County, Missouri in the Persons Unit with a focus on domestic violence.
ANNA BUNCH, SENIOR ASSISTANT PROSECUTING ATTORNEY
Anna joined the Christian County Prosecutor’s Office in November of 2012. Anna received her undergraduate degree from University of Missouri majoring in Journalism and Political Science. She received her Juris Doctorate from University of Missouri School of Law in May of 2007. While in law school, she was selected as the recipient of the Hunvald Student Prize for Excellence in Criminal Justice. Prior to joining the Christian County Prosecutor’s office, she worked for the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office where she prosecuted a variety of crimes including property crimes, crimes against persons, and served in the Warrant Unit reviewing the majority of cases that were received into the office and served as a liaison with law enforcement officers. Anna has also worked at the Missouri Attorney General’s office handling criminal appeals and motions for post-conviction relief. Currently, Anna handles the felony drug and weapons offenses. While employed at the office, Anna has attended training at the National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI) and ChildFirst.
DUSTIN BIRCH, ASSISTANT PROSECUTING ATTORNEY
Dustin received his undergraduate degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration. Dustin received his Juris Doctor from Arizona Summit Law School in Phoenix, AZ. During law school, Dustin volunteered as a student participant in Arizona Summit’s Consumer Debt and Bankruptcy Clinic obtaining bankruptcy relief for indigent citizens. After graduating law school, Dustin worked in a family law and criminal law firm in Phoenix, AZ before moving to Missouri and taking a job as a Staff Attorney for Missouri’s Department of Social Services. Prior to his collegiate career, Dustin served over five years of active and reserve duty in the United States Marine Corps. Dustin handles cases involving misdemeanor assault, property crimes, trespass and property damage.
RACHEL HOPPER, ASSISTANT PROSECUTING ATTORNEY
JOHN YOUNG SENIOR ASSISTANT PROSECUTING ATTORNEY
John joined the Christian County Prosecutor’s Office in August of 2016. John received his undergraduate degree in 1986 from Missouri State University majoring in Political Science and a minor in history. He received his Juris Doctorate from University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law in 1989.
John has 27 years of legal experience. John spent 13 years serving as the Prosecuting Attorney for Mercer County, Missouri. He also was appointed by the Governor and served Worth County as the Prosecuting Attorney from 2007 – 2010. As the Prosecuting Attorney, John handled cases from minor traffic matters to child sex crimes and murders. John serves by the appointment of the Governor on the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board.
John is a member of the Missouri Association of Prosecuting Attorneys, Nation District Attorney’s Association, Christian Legal Society, National Lawyer’s Association. John has received special training for child witnesses on Finding Words Missouri from America Prosecutor Research Institute and National Center for Prosecution of Child Abuse; Multi-disciplinary Conference on Domestic Violence sponsored by the National District Attorney’s Association, GAL certified, and Civil Rights from the National Litigation Academy. John has twice been awarded Honor Guard recipient for Alliance Defense Fund.
John’s caseload includes felony burglary, stealing, bad checks, and other felony property related offenses.
