Position Available – Assistant Prosecuting Attorney

POSITION AVAILABLE – ASSISTANT PROSECUTING ATTORNEY

The Christian County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has opening for a full-time Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.  This position will begin immediately.  Responsibilities will include managing a misdemeanor caseload.  The Assistant Prosecutor will regularly appear in court, conduct motion hearings, bench trials and jury trials.  The Christian County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is a file-less office.  Thus, the successful candidate will be proficient at keyboarding.  Further, we use PROSECUTORbyKARPEL as our case management system.  The preferred candidate will have prosecution experience or experience as an intern in a prosecutor’s office, and working knowledge of PROSECUTORbyKarpel or other experience to support the ability to learn and work within an electronic case management system.  The compensation will include salary and benefits.  The starting salary is $52,000.

The office includes six assistant prosecuting attorneys, one investigator, three victim advocates and six legal assistants.

Christian County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office Annual Report 2017

The Office of the Christian County Prosecuting Attorney has released its annual report covering cases filed from December 1, 2016 to November 30, 2017.

The report includes a few notable statistics including a 28% increase in felony charges filed over the same period last year and a 98% increase since 2011.

The Christian County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is grateful of the support it has received from its Law Enforcement partners and the citizens of Christian County as it pursues its goal to seek and serve justice in 2018 and beyond.
