New APA Ron Gross

On December 27, 2021 Judge Bacon swore in Ron Gross as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.  Prior to receiving his badge of office he was administered the Prosecutor Code of Ethics by Prosecuting Attorney Amy Fite.

Ron Gross received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from College of the Ozarks 1997, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri School of Law in 1999, and a Master of Laws degree from the United States Army’s Judge Advocate General’s School and Legal Center, in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2012.  Prior to joining the Christian County Prosecutor’s Office, Ron served as a Prosecutor and the Chief of Litigation Support at the Office of the Chief Prosecutor for Military Commissions, which prosecutes unlawful enemy belligerents, including five 9/11 co-conspirators, the mastermind of the U.S.S. Cole bombing, the co-conspirators of the bombings of the U.S. Consulate in Bali and the J.W. Marriott bombing in Jakarta, and senior al-Qaeda leaders. Ron has served as an Army Judge Advocate (JAG) for more than twenty years.  He has also served as a civilian defense attorney and a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia.  

New APA Jill Patterson Sworn In

On September 23, 2021 Judge Bacon swore in Jill Patterson as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.  Prior to receiving her badge of office she was administered the Prosecutor Code of Ethics by Prosecuting Attorney Amy Fite.

Jill received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis, in 1990 and her law degree from the University of Missouri in 1993.

CARES Act funding awarded for temporary APA’s and Investigators, APA’s sworn in

Beginning in August the CCPA was able to hire three veteran Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys, Rachel Smith, Dwight Scroggins, and Joe Schoeberl and two experienced investigators, Kevin Holle and Justin Varner.  The final member of the CARES ACT Team started on September 9, 2020.  The team will serve through December 2020.  While here they will be focused on assisting in addressing the caseload backlog created as a result of the pandemic.

On June 30, 2020 Judge Bacon swore in Jacob Cantwell as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.  Prior to receiving his badge of office he was administered the Prosecutor Code of Ethics by Prosecuting Attorney Amy Fite.

Jacob Cantwell, a native of Warrensburg, Missouri received his Juris Doctorate from the Washburn University School of Law (2019). He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Evangel Universtiy (2016).

NEW ASSISTANT PROSECUTING ATTORNEY PATRICK SPRINGER SWORN IN

Robert Patrick Springer was sworn in October 16, 2017 by Honorable Judge Doug Bacon as a new Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Christian County.

Springer, a native of Aurora, Missouri and now of Springfield, is a 2015 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law. He also holds degrees in Nursing from Southwest Baptist University(2009) and Criminology from Missouri State University(2012).
